Westworld overtakes Game of Thrones

Fans of Westworld will be thrilled to know that the much awaited second season will be coming to M-Net later this year. We caught a brief glimpse of what could be expected when HBO released a teaser trailer at Comic-Con during the Westworld panel session last July. Building on the anticipation, they then played the below trailer during Superbowl this year. This being the first time HBO has ever booked a Superbowl slot for a single show, so they clearly feel this show is as special as the fans do:

It makes sense that HBO would invest so heavily in the show as it is their most-watched freshman show – ever, even outperforming “the biggest show in the world”, Game of Thrones’ debut! With a star-studded cast; including Evan Rachel Wood (Multi Golden Globe & Emmy nominee, also known for The Westwing,  True Blood), Thandie Newton (Golden Globe, Emmy, BAFTA nominee, also known for Crash, For Colored Girls), Anthony Hopkins (Transformers: Last Knight, The Silence of the Lambs) and Luke Hemsworth (SAG nominee also known for Hickok, Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: The Dark World – there are three Hemsworth brothers!) to mention a few, it’s no wonder!

If you missed the first season, or if you want to remind yourself of the twists and turns, now is the time to binge, in preparation for the second season - watch all ten episodes from the first season of Westworld on Showmax available to DStv Premium customers at no extra cost. And if you want to make the comparison between HBO’s two top performers for yourself, visit Westeros, via Showmax and binge all seven seasons of  Game of Thrones, to ensure you have an informed opinion, of course!
