New shows to watch on Mzansi Magic this April

Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161, is bringing more drama and mesmerizing reality with 6 new shows starting in April. Mzansi Magic is also available to stream on DStv Now.

Here is the list of the exciting shows you can look forward to this month:

Abomama
Sundays at 20:00
This drama series examines and challenges the ideas of faith and sin when four close women are sucked into the criminal underworld and forced to turn their stokvel into a money-laundering scheme.

These four religious women soft-spoken Mapule (Nokuthula Ledwaba), the pastor’s wife Fumane (Joyce Skefu), Dora (Unathi Guma) and Tshidi (Khanyi Mbau) will take it upon themselves to turn tragedy into a blessing.
What will these bible clutching women do when they come face to face with their own demons: will they invite them in or pray even harder? Find out by watching it on Sundays at 20:00.

Yobe
Tuesdays at 20:00
Yobe will document the intense journey of seeking forgiveness as ex-offenders approach victims or victims’ families for forgiveness. The 13 part docu-series will unpack the stories of the perpetrators as they take accountability for their actions by apologizing to their victims. Setting the tone for the dialogue will be the victim, recalling the dreadful events that changed their lives.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Viewers will relive the incident which resulted in the offender being jailed through a re-enactment. The offender then proceeds to write a letter to the victim or victim’s family expressing their desire to meet with them. Once both parties agree to meet face-to-face, mediation will occur under the guidance of trained Correctional Services facilitators and social workers.

Yobe is the brainchild of award-winning actor, Siyabonga Thwala, and is produced in collaboration with Bomb Productions. Don’t miss Yobe Tuesdays at 20:00.

Ingoma
Mondays at 20:00

Ingoma, follows the story of three aspiring artists from the Eastern Cape town of Alice: Sino (Anita Sibozo), Ezekiel (Ayanda Makayi) and Angel (Oros Mampofu). Lured to Cape Town’s big lights and fast life by businessman and record label owner Leo Black (Buyile Dladla), the very naive trio are soon introduced to a life of glamour, wealth and extravagance, with the promise of breaking it in the industry, through Black’s Platinum Record label. But all’s not what it seems, and it’s soon revealed that Leo Black’s intentions are not as savoury as what the group were first led to believe.
